The original Canary Riverside fitted kitchens came with a Smeg gas hob installed. When updating their kitchen many residents have dispensed with a gas hob and replaced it with an electric/induction hob.

If your kitchen has a gas hob it is imperative that the hob has a safety feature that ensures the gas is automatically shut-off in the absence of a flame. This feature is known as a Flame Failure Device.
