Window & door handle maintenance

To prevent window and door handles/locking rods from getting stiff or even seizing up we recommend that you give them regular maintenance by way of a spray of lubricant.

Silicone lubricants are the best tool for the job. There are several on the market, and our local Robert Dyas sells WD-40 high performance silicone.

By spraying all of the moving parts (handles and locking rods) and then opening/closing the handles a few of times will help ensure that the handles don’t seize up or break. If the handle feels stiff please do not force it: give it a lubricating spray first.
