This is now going to be supplemented by the installation of a Hyperoptic fibre network, providing residents with greater choice in their fibre broadband provider. Installation of the network commences on 10th May. We will keep you updated as to when you can connect to Hyperoptic.
We have been notified that the Canary Riverside Plaza hotel will be erecting a ‘welfare facility’ outside their main entrance on 4th May. This will stay in situ for approximately 4-5 weeks.

Read MoreMessage from Ronnie McCarthy, Estate Manager:
“There was a burst water mains pipe yesterday on P2 Berkeley tower, which led to us having to shut down the lifts for approximately 1 hour.
A message was sent out to all residents of Berkeley tower informing them of this, shortly after we received complaints of Hanover’s resident not receiving any water, fortunately by this time a temporary repair was made restoring services back as they should.
I was informed by security that water pressures dropped last night at around 22:30pm then returned to normal some 1 – 2 hours later. The water pressure dropped again this morning at 06:00am so an engineer was called out, the engineer has confirmed all services are now up and running.
I have instructed both concierges to inform their residents.
Kind regards
Ronnie McCarthy | Estate Manager”
Residents who have provided their contact details to their concierge can now receive instant notifications telling them when a package has arrived, or when their apartment key has been picked up from/returned to the concierge.

Read MoreHave you completed the form that you received from Parkgate Aspen on 10th November 2020 by email/letter, attaching a declaration form that must be completed by every leaseholder who uses their flat ‘for financial gain’? If not please do so ASAP.
The declaration is an important part of Canary Riverside’s application for Government funding to help cover the cost of the cladding remediation works.
Failure to return the form could detrimentally affect our eligibility for funds from the Building Safety Fund and increase the costs funded through your service charge.
A declaration must be completed by each co-owner, and for each flat owned. Please see the cladding page for an example of the declaration form. No action is required if you are the resident-owner of a single flat.
[NB working from home, eg, because of covid restrictions, does not constitute ‘business purposes’. If you run your business from your home and your flat is therefore your business premises you will need to complete a declaration].

This has resulted in the cost (excluding VAT) of electricity for residents going down from 15.451 p/kWh to 14.14 p/kWh, which will be initially seen on the electricity bills for Quarter 4 of 2020 due to be issued in January 2021.
This is a saving of approximately 8%; a similar saving has also been made for the commercial properties at Canary Riverside.

With covid dominating the news the risks associated with candles and electrical appliances at Christmas can easily be overlooked.
Candles and overloaded electrical sockets/sub-standard chargers are two of the most common causes of fires in apartment blocks: taking extra care this Christmas will help prevent potential fires.
Overloaded sockets/extension leads and dodgy chargers* can cause electrical fires. To find out how to use extension leads safely and not cause overheating use this handy ‘socket calculator’ from the electrical safety charity electrical safety first to make sure you’re not overloading your sockets.
*Please only use chargers from reputable companies, preferably the maker of your computer/phone/tablet. Unfortunately fake, cheap/sub-standard chargers are easily available from many outlets. Don’t risk it. Similarly when charging re-chargeable batteries, always use good quality batteries and chargers.
Candles should never be left unattended, and must always be placed away from flammable materials such as curtains, soft furnishings, Christmas trees and decorations. Please make sure you extinguish any candles before going to bed or on leaving your apartment, even if just popping to check your post or taking our refuse.
Similarly, Christmas tree lights should be switched off when you’re not home and before you go to bed.
Please ensure your smoke alarms are working properly and keep a spare battery to hand. More information and guides on fire safety at home can be found on the London Fire Brigade website here.
Stay safe, and have an enjoyable Christmas break.
A new booking system has been set up to enable residents to use the tennis court during the latest coronavirus lockdown period. Please see the tennis court page for details of how to book the court.
You will shortly be receiving a letter from Parkgate Aspen attaching a form that must be completed and part of Canary Riverside’s application for Government funding to help cover the cost of cladding remediation works. Failure to return the form could detrimentally affect our eligibility for funds from the Building Safety Fund and increase costs funded through the service charge. Thanks for your cooperation.
